Great brunch

Great dinner for us

Better than nothing to eat

Rachel is teething big time right now. She has three big teeth pushing up that could cut through her gums anytime now. One is an eye tooth on the bottom and the other two are molars. A real nail biter on American Idol

Because the top 3 contestants on American Idol did such a great job last night, it was hard to guess who would make it to the final. It seemed like Adam would probably have the best chance to be in the final. Assuming that, would Danny or Kris get eliminated and go home? Danny made a huge mistake

Last night was rock night on American Idol. Me and my hubby knew that Kris and Danny would struggle if they didn't pick a perfect song for themselves. Well, Danny picked an Aerosmith song my husband knows very well and he said right away that Danny made a huge mistake. My hubby said the last note is so high there was no way Danny could hit that high of a note and he was right. Danny sounded really bad and looked even worse when he disagreed with the judges and said he would have to watch the tape because he thought he pulled it off. It was kind of funny and a little embarrassing for Danny.

The binky is gone for good

We finally have been able to get Rachel to stop using the binky earlier this week. She really was only using it before her afternoon nap and when she went to bed at night. Sometimes she would wake up at night and the only way we could get her back to sleep quickly was to give her the binky. Now, we just give her one of her dolls or stuffed animals and she holds them and goes back to sleep. Our doctor also suggested to have her stop using her sippy cups and only use cups with a straw. Most of my friends who have kids thought this was strange, but I guess we will try to limit how much we let her drink out of the sippy cup.

Very sad to hear about David Cook's brother

Last year we knew that David Cook was going to win American Idol when there was still more than a dozen contestants left. Luckily, the fans that watched agreed with us and voted him American Idol for 2008. My hubby also wanted him to win because he is from a suburb in Kansas City where my hubby was born and grew up. We were very sad after we heard that David's brother passed away last week after a long battle with cancer. It was hard for my hubby to hear that because his brother's wife, Carol, is fighting terminal cancer. Well, we both prayed for David's brother, his family and Carol at church today. When things like this happen, it reminds us how important every day we have in our lives are precious and priceless.

Manny did it again

We went to our friend's house last nite to watch Manny Pacquaio knockout Ricky Hatton at the end of the second round. It was so amazing how awesome Manny fought due to the great gameplan his trainer had given him. Great to see Manny finally getting the credit he deserves. Now, most if not all the boxing experts agree that he is the "best pound-for-pound fighter" in the world right now. It will be interesting to see who fights him next because he looks so unbeatable. My hubby is upset because his sister was in Vegas last nite and offered to put a bet on Manny for my hubby. He decided not to and of course now he wishes he did.
