Getting excited for the big fight

This weekend, our native hero from the Philippines has another big fight in Las Vegas. Manny Pacquiao is fighting Ricky Hatton from England. I hear he is a favorite to win, but it sounds like it should be a really good fight. As usual, we're going to get together with my friends at a boxing party and watch it on pay-per-view. It's always fun to do that because we all get so excited and scream real loud during the fight. This scared Rachel the first time she watched a fight with us. She doesn't really watch the fight, she just goes from person to person and plays with them or looks to see what they are eating or drinking. Well, I'm real excited to watch the fight and I am hoping and praying that Manny will win again!

It was predictable and shocking

Tonight's American Idol elimination show was both predictable in the end and surprising how it happened. Adam, who most think is the favorite at this point, was in the bottom two in votes tonight. Everyone was shocked he was not in the top two, especially the judges. I think they were wishing they had another "save" in case something bizarre happened and Adam was eliminated. But, Matt was the one to go, which is pretty much what I expected. I'm really excited to see next week becuase it will be Rock & Roll week. This should be a big advantage for Adam and Allison because they are rockers more than Kris and Danny, but we will see, right?

Obama's plane flying low in Manhattan

I was shocked when I saw on TV that the White House authorized a low fly by past the Statue of Liberty at a cost of $328,000 for just a photo op with one of Obama's 747's. How could they not realize the citizens and people in lower Manhattan would panc and think they were under attack again like on 9/11? It's just amazing to me how some people can get so high up in the most powerful government in the world and make mistakes like that. I feel for the people that were scared by the flyover. Seeing that huge plane flying so low so close to ground zero was a pretty eerie sight to me, how about you?

Snow again?

Here we are in late April waiting for warmer weather and we woke up this morning to about 3 inches of snow on the ground. It was a nice surprise for Rachel who is really starting to like the snow. We went outside and played in the snow for a while, but it was still cold and a lttile windy. So, after Rachel had fun playing and rolling around in the snow, we went back inside. Last weekend when we got over 2 feet of snow, I thought we wouldn't see snow again until next winter. Oh well, I was wrong there.

Getting ready to see who gets the axe on Idol

We are going to getting ready to watch tonight's American Idol when two contestants will be eliminated. I'm cooking some pork ribs I bought at the store today, they smell really good. As far as who is on the "chopping block" on Idol tonight, I think it will be Lil Rounds and Anoop who will be sent packing. Anoop has done great the past two weeks, but I don't think he has enough fans to save him this week. It's been obvious to me and my hubby for weeks that the two favorites to make the finals are Adam and Danny. Now, that is all we read on the interet, that the finals is all but decided between those two. Well, gotta go and finish cooking dinner and start watching Idol, I'm excited to see what happens.

Too much water too handle

Today after my hubby left for work, I woke up and saw all this water coming out of the bathroom. Something broke on the toilet supply line and it was flooding our master bathroom and closet, part of our master bedroom and a hallway. What a huge mess! We had to call a company to come and clean up all the water and pull out the carpet pad that was too soaked to dry out. Now we have these noisy fans blowing on the wet carpet to dry it out. Then, they will come back tomorrow and replace the pad. We had to move a lot of stuff in our bedroom and out of our closet. Not a good start to the week, but that stuff happens, right?

Really cold and windy

It's really cold and windy outside. I like to go out and take a picture of the snow because they really look nice. But I wait for the wind to die down. Were planning to go sledding but Rachel got tired and my hubby was not in the mood for some sledding today. He said maybe we can do it tomorrow. I hear some screaming at the other room. I got to go now and feed Rachel. She probably hungry because she didn't have much for lunch.

I went for a walk with Rachel this afternoon. We stop at the park and watch the kids playing. Rachel had fun watching them and I let her walk in the grass and she just loved it. I told hubby that I'm not in the mood for cooking tonight. So, my hubby ordered pizza and buffalo wings. It was a good dinner for us.

I'm looking for new foods for Rachel to try She has been real fussy eating over the last couple of weeks. We are pretty sure it's because her teething is real bad right now. So, one food I thought she might like she hasn't had yet was macaroni and cheese. I made some for her tonight and gave it to her on a small plate. I was real happy when she started eating them one by one. After about ten minutes, she had almost finished all the macaroni and cheese I gave her. It was good to see her eat so much since she has been so picky recently.

My hubby went to the store this afternoon and bought us chicken rotisserie for our dinner. I am so happy because I don't need to cook tonight. Right now, my hubby is busy slicing the chicken in the kitchen and I will get the vegetable ready for us. Instead of having rice, will have baked potatoes that I baked earlier. I found a good movie to watch earlier and I recorded it so we can watch it later tonight.

American Idol's top 9 performed

We just saw the American Idol show that aired last night. It was amazing how good a couple of performances were and how bad many of them were. I would guess that Megan will get eliminated tonight. She seemed to have the weakest song of all the contestants and Anoop is probably in the bottom three as well. Danny Gokey had another great night, which made us happy because he is still our favorite. We are going to watch tonight's show after we eat dinner, so we will see who has made the top 8.
