Yummy garlic mashed potatoes
Before we went bowling earlier, I made mashed potatoes. I got this recipe from my in-laws and it's really good. My hubby just love it and he ask me again if I can make more. It's pretty easy to make and I ask my in-laws on where did she found this great mashed potatoes recipe. She said at kraft.com.

Meal for a cold snowy day
I don't know what to cook for our dinner tonight. So I ask hubby what he like. He told me, grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. It's meal he likes when the weather is cold. It's pretty easy to make and not much of ingredients. Here's how I make my grilled cheese sandwich with the tomato soup. I just need two slices whole grain bread, two Kraft 2% milk singles, two thin slices tomato, 2 tsp.soft margarine, one half cup baby carrots, one half cup sugar snap peas. Fill bread slices with 2% milk singles and tomatoes. Spread outside of sandwich with margarine. Cook in skillet on medium heat 3 min. on each side or until golden brown on both sides. I serve it vegetables. As for the tomato soup, I use tomato Campbell soup, boil them and put one tablespoon of butter. It's pretty and try it you might like it.

Sea salt and olive oil body scrub
An age-old remedy for skin troubles, sea salts are rich in minerals with healing, rejuvenating powers. This scrub, created by Christina Strutt, owes its skin-smoothing effects to the naturally exfoliating salts as well as to cleaning, moisturizing extra virgin olive oil. It's ideal for sloughing away dead skin cells and getting your legs ready for warmer weather, says Strutt. When in season, fresh pumpkin can substitute for the sea salt. Just roast about a pound and a half of pumpkin until soft( about 20 minutes) and mash with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once the blend has cooled, spread it over your skin and leave on for 20 mins. before washing off.
1/2 cup finely ground sea salt, 2 Tbs. extra virgin oil. Stir together salt and olive oil in small bowl. Dampen your skin and rub the blend from head to toe, then rinse off in the shower.

Exciting week for American Idol
My hubby and I watched a recorded American Idol tonight. I was happy hearing that it's country song week. I love country and hubby was not really cool about it. What's really interesting about tonight show was Anop. I was really surprised and Im beginning to like him. He just nailed the song Your always on my mind. I first heard the song by Micheal Buble and it's always been my one of my favorite.

Arriving safety at Albuquerque
I slept good last night and so did Rachel. Driving 7 hours and sitting is not easy. So, it's a good thing I had my Ipod with me, which keeps me busy listening to my favorite music. Rachel did a good job while sitting in her car seat for long road trip. We brought our DVD player so she can watch her Barney. Oops, I hear hubby said "we need to get going". Well, got to go now and I will add more updates about our trip in my next post.

Warning for all parents/grandparents
I went ahead and checked this out. It is true and there has been at least one other case of this happening.
Warning for all parents/grandparents, uncles and aunts - someone sent me this and I thought it was important enough to send on.....we all know someone with children. This story was verified at: http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/sanitizer.asp
Yesterday, my youngest daughter, Halle, who is 4, was rushed to the emergency room by her father for being severely lethargic and incoherent. He was called to her school by the school secretary for bei ng 'very VERY sick...'
He told me that when he arrived, Halle was barely sitting in the chair. She couldn't hold her own head up and when he looked into her eyes, she couldn't focus them. He immediately scooped her up and rushed her to the ER, and then called me. When we got there, they ran blood test after blood test and did x-rays, every test imaginable. Her white blood cell count was normal, nothing was out of the ordinary. The ER doctor told us that he had done everything that he could do so he was sending her to Saint Francis for further tests. Right when we were leaving in the ambulance, her teacher came to the ER and, after questioning Halle's classmates, we found out that she had licked hand sanitizer off her hand. Hand sanitizer, of all things.
But it makes sense. These days they have all kinds of different scents and when you have a curious child, they are going to put all kinds of things into their mouths. When we arrived at Saint Francis, we told the ER doctor there to check her blood alcohol level, and yes we did get weird looks, but they did it. The results showed her blood alcohol level was 85% -- six hours after we first took her. There's no telling what it would have been if we would have requested it at the first ER.
Since then, her school and a fe w surrounding schools have taken this out of the classrooms of all the lower grade classes, but what's to stop middle and high schoolers from ingesting the stuff? After doing research on the Internet, we have found out that it only takes 3 squirts of the stuff to be fatal in a toddler. For her blood alcohol level to be so high was to compare someone her size to drinking something 120 proof. So please PLEASE don't disregard this because I don't ever want anyone else to go through what my family and I have gone through. Please send this to everyone you know who has children or are going to be having children. It doesn't matter what age.

It snowed
It snowed when I woke up this morning. Although it's pretty chilly yesterday, I never thought that it's going to snow this morning. I was planning to go out for a walk but I changed my mind. Instead, hubby and I went to furniture row to look for a new coffee table. Unfortunately we couldn't find any that we like. So, we went back home and hubby decided to go bowling later in nighttime.

Movie review or movie warning
We watched a Richard Gere movie called "Mothman Prophecies". It started out as a very intriguing movie for the first half or so. But, then they really overdid the concept of a being from another dimension was contacting Richard Gere's character and other people in the movie and warning them about future events where people would be hurt or killed. One prediction was a little spooky for us because it was about a plane crash in Denver that had 99 passengers and all were killed. Anyway, they had the "Mothman" talking in a garbled voice that was really hard if not sometimes impossible to understand. The movie was just a little too frantic for me and simply not very believable at all. So, if you like a movie with unintelligible dialogue, unexplained happenings and a predictable ending, then check this movie out. Otherwise, I will warn you not to waste your time watching it.

Went to a real fun party
Yesterday, I went to a party with my friends in north Denver. It was nice because my hubby offered to take care of Rachel while I was at the party. There was a lot of really good food, so much good food I couldn't eat and try everything I wanted to. We chatted and visited while we were eating, which was nice because there was some of my friends there I haven't seen in a while. Then, after we were done eating, we played some games. Most of the games I had played before, but one or two were new for me. I really enjoy spending time with my friends like I did at the party yesterday. I'm very lucky to have so many good friends in the Denver area.

My first time sledding
We went up to the mountains today just south of Breckenridge. There is a big hill there that is real popular for sledding. It was a very nice day, but a little breezy at times. We got up there around 11am and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. Luckily, there wasn't too many people on the hill sledding. I guess the other people there were doing other activities like back-country skiing and hiking. Rachel did pretty good watching us sledding down the hill, but after a while we were afraid the wind was making her a little cold. So, my hubby decided to leave early and take her home to play it safe. I had such a blast sledding down the hill with my friends. I have never done it before and it's amazing how fast you can get going. After we took pictures while we were sledding, we went back to our cars to have lunch. We had some great food packed and I was so hungry. Then, we drove to our friends' house Joy in Bailey on the way back to Denver and had homemade chicken soup, it was so good and the chicken was very tender. We stayed there and visited for a while before heading back home. What an awesome and fun day. I am really tired and have a feeling I will be a little sore tomorrow.
